Making Mental Health Care Easy

Is finding a new provider over and over again getting old?

Let’s get to know you, so that we can guide you on your journey for the long haul.

Are you tired of dealing with big corporations to improve your mental health?

Well, you’re in luck. We are a locally based outpatient clinic helping our neighbors feel better one-at-a-time.

Is navigating insurance making it too difficult to get the care you need?

Believe me, we’ve been there too. That’s why every patient has access to a care concierge who will help you get the care you deserve.

Insurance Accepted.

We accept most major insurance plans, and can help verify your benefits.

April Adkins. DNP, PMHNP.

Welcome to my practice.

With over 25 years of dedicated experience in the Medical Field, I am passionate about providing compassionate care and support to individuals facing various mental health challenges. As a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) holding a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, I bring a wealth of expertise to my practice.

In my private practice, I am committed to fostering a safe and nurturing environment where clients feel empowered to explore their concerns openly. Whether you're navigating mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, or other mental health issues, I am here to offer personalized support and guidance every step of the way.

I believe in a collaborative approach to mental health care, working closely with each client to develop holistic treatment plans that prioritize their well-being and overall mental wellness. My goal is not only to alleviate symptoms but also to empower individuals to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives.

Why Choose New Heights Psychiatry?

At New Heights Psychiatry, we’re not a massive corporate practice where you’re just another name on a long list of patients. We’re a small, independently owned “mom and pop” practice that prioritizes personalized, compassionate care over volume-driven appointments.

We know the frustrations that come with large psychiatry groups—endless wait times, providers who barely know your history, and a revolving door of clinicians who never stay long enough to truly understand your needs. When mental health care feels impersonal and disconnected, it’s hard to feel heard, let alone supported.

That’s where we’re different. As a boutique practice, we take the time to truly listen, connect, and tailor care to each individual. You won’t be shuffled between providers or left struggling to get a response. With us, you’ll have direct access to a dedicated team that knows you, remembers your story, and is invested in your progress.

It seems like everything these days is being taken over by big corporations—healthcare included. But mental health care isn’t meant to be a numbers game. It’s about trust, consistency, and feeling valued. If you’re looking for a practice that treats you like a person, and not another billable hour, you’ve found the right place.

Let’s take this journey together.

Vitamins and Minerals

Vitamins are essential for physical health and crucial to mental well-being. The absence of specific vitamins and nutrients in your diet could lead to mental health issues. Understanding the types of vitamins linked to mental health and how they affect the human brain can empower you to take control of your mental well-being.

Ask your provider which vitamins may be best suited for your unique needs!
